Pascal is a shy girl with a male name living in a small coastal town, shackled by the chains of local traditions that require her to get married and secure her parents' old age. She cannot escape, feeling how the... town, shrouded in the dense haze of local beliefs, distorts her worldview, robs her of will, binds her to itself. Chance encounters bring her together with the Singer, an outsider to this place, a charismatic and headstrong woman. She firmly believes that she can change Pascal's life.
